Costumised Doors to EN Standards Fire Rated and Multipurpose

Scope

 

Handed doors are constructed when the place where they’ll be installed is known.
Doors have to be constructed handed DX or SX for the following reasons:
They are of special width or height.
They are double leaf.
They have a vision panel or a louvre.
The client wants the leaf prepared with the holes for the fastening of the antipanic crossbar.
They are with certificate for installation on plasterboard partitions.
They are with certificate for installation on sub-frames.
They have to be made of stainless steel.
They are of sound reduction type.
The leaf has SCA – Access Control System.
The client prefers them to the reversible type for aesthetic reasons.

CE marked

As per EU regulation, all doors ordered to Endoors for installation on exteriors will be delivered CE marked.

The differentiation of fire doors for civil and public use between external and internal was introduced in the EU a few years ago. Only those to install exterior walls of a building must and can be CE marked (free trade between EU countries) while those for interiors have still to be produced, supplied and installed with certifications issued by the individual governments of each state (not free trade between EU countries) on the basis of fire tests carried out according to national standards or according to the European standard EN 1634, although not markable CE due to the lack of the official harmonized EU procedure for interior doors.

Endors has both CE marked fire doors for external use supplied with CE certificate and Declaration of Performance DoP and those for internal use supplied with EN 1634 certification.

Fire doors for external use materially differ not much from those for internal use, they have more a specific finish and a “environmental kit” of gaskets and sills for protection from atmospheric agents.

We ask customers to always let us know in advance when doors are needed for installation on exteriors and CE marked; in the absence of this specification, internal doors as per below specifications will be offered.

DOOR MULTIPURPOSE (NOT FIRE RATED) DOUBLE LEAF

Door metallic double leaf DX or SX handed model, supplied assembled up to the dimension wall opening 1500 x 2150 and unassembled for bigger dimensions with high resistance steel frame on 3 sides and lower distance piece to remove after installation and leaf painted with epoxy-polyester powders oven hardened embossed RAL 9010 tone, with clamps to bend open and holes for fixing with expansion screws, 4 bearing hinges of reduced dimension mm 98 x 16,5 Ø, total thickness of leaves 53 mm of galvanized double steel sheet, honeycomb fiber core, CE marked lock with tongue and turns in main leaf and manual latches for the upper and lower closing of secondary leaf, floor socket, black safety handle of plastic, plates and Patent key, sticker with data, booklet for installation use and maintenance.

IMPORTANT NOTES TO THE HANDED DOORS

  • All orders have to refer to the “wall opening” dimensions Lfm (width) x Hfm (height).
  • Endoors’ order confirmations, transportation documents and invoices always refer to the “wall opening” dimensions Lfm (width) x Hfm (height).
  • Opening hands are intended “to push” like in following drawing. SX = Left to push. DX = Right to push.
  • The ordered dimensions will be round up to the nearest multiple of 10 mm.
  • Ensure that the dimensions of the desired doors are covered by the certificates listed in the section “Certificates and legislation” and in case of vision panels that the minimum distances from the door’s edges are respected.
  • Doors can be supplied in all the different colors of the RAL range except the pearly and the phosphorescent.
  • Single leaf doors of maximum width 1330 opened 90° with push crossbar models Slash or Thouch-bar maintain mm 1145 free passage considering the 5% tolerance admitted by law (=1140).
  • Single leaf doors of maximum width 1330 are manufactured for real wall opening mm 1328.
  • Leaves higher than 2400 will have 3 hinges.
  • By intensive use or leaves with L ≥ 1145 install overhead doorclosers.
  • Expansion screws and sub-frames are not included in the prices.

Certificates and Max. Dimensions

Customed fire rated doors must be combined with a precise initial choice of certification depending on the country of final installation. The maximum and minimum dimensions, the possibilities for insertion of fixed windows, the type of partitions to install the doors and some other details depend on the certification chosen.

The maximum dimensions of single leaf fire rated doors are mm. L 1100 to1300 x 2170 to 2500 H of wall opening.

The maximum dimensions of double leaf fire rated doors are mm. L 2200 to2500 x 2170 to 2500 H of wall opening.

The maximum dimensions of multipurpose doors (not fire rated) do not undergo certification limits and their maximum dimensions are respectively L 1300 x 3000 H and 2600 x 3000 H.

In section “Purchase Guide” under title “Certificates and Legislations” there is the complete and detailed list of Endoors’ certificates of fire rated doors and their main data.

We recommend to indicate the desired certification when requesting quotes because it is a fundamental aspect for the pricing and the marking of the doors for the acceptability at destination of the documentation proving the fire resistance. In case of doubt it is better to clarify this aspect first with the local authorities responsible for issuing habitability.

WINDOWS FIRE RATED, WINDOWS MULTIPURPOSE AND LOUVERS

WINDOWS FIRE RATED, WINDOWS MULTIPURPOSE AND LOUVERS installed, not openable and with screws for fastening in sight.

Fire rated windows:
Thickness of glass EI2 60 mm 23-25, thickness of glass EI2 120 mm 50-53.
Glasses for exclusive use in interiors they deteriorate if installed on exteriors
Available sizes: mm 300 x 400, mm 400 x 600, circular diameter mm 280, special sizes covered by certificate, consult section “certificates and legislation”.

Multipurpose windows and louvers:
Glasses of security type laminated or wired thickness approx mm 5-6 installed in the upper part of doors minimum width 700.
Louvers of different types installed in the lower part of door unless different indication of the client at order time on doors of minimum width 800.
Available glass sizes: mm 300 x 400, mm 400 x 600, circular diameter mm 280 or any special size distant at least mm 200 from the side edges, mm 300 from top side and mm 500 from the floor.
Available louver sizes: mm 400 x 100 H, mm 453 x 90 H, mm 540 x 240 H, mm 450 x 377 H or any special size distant at least mm 200 from the side edges, mm 300 from top side and mm 500 from the floor.
It is possible to insert more than one glass or louver in the same multipurpose door.

EMERGENCY CROSSBARS:

EMERGENCY CROSSBARS certified and marked CE, delivered with installation instructions and servicing instructions under existing legislation European standard EN 1125. 5 models are available for different needs:

Model TWIST, lever type, black base, bar natural aluminium, crossbar sold and used for years for the convenient price, the easy installation, the perfect operation. Marked CE 376B1422AA. In certificate called TECNO, lever type, 110 mm. jutting.

Model INNOVA,, recent model lever type with just 80 mm. jutting, alternative to the push types because of the more competitive price, black base, bar natural aluminium. Marked CE 0425.

Model SLASH, push type, black base, bar natural aluminium, crossbar used when a low encumbrance is needed on doors which open 90° only.  Marked CE 366B1322BA. In certificate called TECNO PLUS, push type, 75 mm. jutting.

Model TOUCH BAR, push type, black base, bar of red color, crossbar used when a low encumbrance is needed on doors which open 90° only, alternative to the model Slash for the color of the bar. Marked CE 0425 prod. CISA push type, 72 mm. jutting.

Model INOX, lever type, made of complete stainless steel base and bar, elegant, of high reliability, easy installation and perfect operation. Marked CE 376B1422AA prod. TESA, lever type 100 mm. jutting.

 
 
 

ANTIPANIC LOCKS

ANTIPANIC LOCKS certified and marked CE according to standard EN 12209

RAL COLORS

The standard color of the doors and included in the price for both the leaf and the frame is RAL 9010 semi brilliant embossed finish. Photo of this finish visible under “accessories included” above.

 

It is possible to order doors in different RAL with a variable price increase depending on the RAL.

Optional RAL colors are available in 2 types.

  • The most common type, available in both finishes, semi brilliant embossed or matt textured..
    RAL 1013 – RAL 3000 – RAL 7016 – RAL 7024 – RAL 7035 – RAL 7038 – RAL 8017 – RAL 9003 – RAL 9010.
  • All the other RALs, less common, are only available in a matt textured finish.

 

The difference between the 2 finishes is visible in the 2 comparative photos below, in this case for example on a dark gray colour, on the right semi brilliant embossed version, on the left matt textured version. Depending on the intensity or incidence of the light they may have a different yield.

 

NOTES AND WARNINGS

The matt textured finishas painting  is suitable for installation on exteriors.

Some RALs cannot be made, for example the phosphorescent or pearly ones.

The RALs 9006 and 9007 in the textured version become banal grays, better avoid.

CYLINDERS

CYLINDERS to insert in the lock hole and use instead of the cylinder-shaped plastic piece with patent key.
Following types available:
Complete cylinder “40+40” for both sides of the door.
Half-cylinder “40+10” for just one side of door, for example for the pull side of doors equipped with emergency crossbars on push side.
Cylinders like above but uniformed = all the same with the same key.
Mastered cylinders = all different with different keys but 1 master key opens all of them, deliverable in different groups for different building portions.
Cylinders with knob and key on opposite side for hotel rooms.
Cylinders with knob and groove to open with coin on opposite side for WC.

DOORCLOSERS

DOORCLOSERS overhead type certified and marked CE, delivered with installation instructions and servicing instructions under existing legislation European standard EN 1154. 4 models are available for different needs:

SCA – ACCESS CONTROL SYSTEM

Set composed of “SCA” lock with a built-in magnet, wiring inside the door-leaf and foldaway tube with terminal for electric connection on hinge side of the door-frame. Operates at 12 V AC/DC, 860 mA, multilingual technical data sheet present in download area. The voltage and amperage should not differ except for usual tolerances otherwise the locks do not work or will burn and lose the warranty. For single leaf doors or main leaf of double leaf doors. Excluded the accessories for the power supply, the timing and electronic management like buttons, card readers etc.
Working system: when the door is closed with the key and electricity is supplied to the lock pressing the lever of the handle the tongue of the lock moves back and the door opens.
2 versions available SCA 1 and SCA 2 for the use with emergency crossbars or lever handles on the 2 sides of door.
SCA 1 = controlling of 1 side with normal lever handle, the other side will remain always openable by pushing the emergency crossbar or by pulling the emergency lever handle.
SCA 2 = 2 controlled sides, both equipped with normal lever handle.
In the order specify the hand of the door (DX-SX) and in case of SCA 1 the controlled side (pull side or push side).

ELECTROMAGNETS

PUSH PLATES AND KICK PLATES

for the push and pull side of the doors. Types:

  • Push plates of stainless steel or alluminium with holes for handle or crossbar mm L x 175 H

FRAME EXTENSIONS

Telescopic frame extension  made of galvanized steel profiles painted the same color like door and supplied in disassembled pieces to fit together into each other, upper connections at 90 degrees. Available for wall thickness from 85 to 385 mm.

GAP COVER PROFILE

L shaped steel profile galvanized and painted section mm. 20 x 30 to stick with silicone points over the joint of frame and wall, aesthetic solution suitable particularly when doors are installed without mortar by expansion screws on reinforced concrete walls or blocks.

THIRD HINGE

All doors with a height exceeding mm 2400 are supplied with 3 hinges per leaf. Third hinge is also sold as an optional for doors of height up to mm 2400.

Frame Fixing Type

For the handed doors there are several certified types of frame fixing systems:

1.Fixing with clamps and mortar.
2.Fixing with expansion screws.

When fixing with mortar the clamps have to be bent out. When fixing with expansion screws the not bent-out clamp will help as a distancer and the hole on it will be used for the expansion screw, suggested type length 12 cm. and diameter 10 mm. depending anyhow on type of wall.
