Doors with opening leaf/leaves hinged on vertical axis, mainly used in public and civil buildings like shopping centers, hospitals, office buildings, hotel stairways, schools, etc. with public pedestrian traffic, maximum dimensions of approximately width cm. 130 x 250 height with 1 leaf and cm. 260 x 250 with 2 leaves.
Depending on the technical-aesthetic desired performance, there are many variations: different colors, metal and imitation, 100% stainless steel, noise reduction, smoke-tight, for installation on various types of walls including those in plasterboard and there is a vast range of optional accessories such as different handles, panic exit devices, glazed vision panels, door closers, access control locks, acoustic sealings, etc.
This is the only group available to “standard dimensions” and “reversible” of opening hand for rationalization of commercial distribution and prompt delivery and available also in the multi-purpose version (same looking but not fire rated) for aesthetic uniformity to the fire rated doors and for the competitiveness if compared to other similar not fire rated doors.
These fire rated gates are mainly used in industrial buildings and sheds, normally visible only in public car parks or in buildings with larger opening dimensions than the fire rated doors.
Very commonly used are the sliding gates because they occupy less space to open them and once in open position, they have also a lower unitary price if compared to the gates hinged on vertical axis. There are also vertical sliding fire rated gates, called also guillotines used as serving hatches, available also in bigger dimensions. All these gates are not available in the multi-purpose version (not fire rated) because they are heavy, slow in movement and have low performance against atmospheric agents, being built almost exclusively for indoor use.
These glazed fire rated doors are aesthetically similar to the non fire rated aluminum normal glazed doors or windows.
The high cost of fire rated glass and profiles makes it a fairly expensive product.
Glazed fire rated doors are available also in the multi-purpose version (not fire rated) using a normal glass, but this could be of interest to the purchaser only for few pieces for reasons of aesthetic uniformity with a bigger fire rated quantity, non fire rated are not competitive with similar products available on the market.
